Joy was born and raised in Guttenberg, New Jersey and is one of eight children. Married to Jim Pinto in 1977; they are blessed with four children and nine grandchildren. Residing in Fairfield, Alabama, the Pintos seek to incarnate the love of Jesus Christ to their predominately African American neighbors. Joy is an advocate for quality education, care for the poor, the unborn and women in crisis. Joy is one of the founding members of the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life-Lay Associates.

Joy’s extension of Christ’s love, flows from a deep intimacy with God as revealed through the Scriptures, Church Tradition, Holy Spirit, and Sacraments of the Church.  She is a gifted communicator and teacher who passionately and joyfully proclaims the Gospel of Life, Marriage and Family. Joy’s appearances on the Eternal Word Television Network, both TV and Radio, have made her a familiar voice for Life, Marriage and Family throughout the world.

Joy is a member of the Cathedral of St. Paul, Birmingham, Alabama. A Pastoral Associate of Sanctity of Life Ministries, her gifts of teaching are extended through dynamic presentations, retreats, and prayer counseling. Joy shares numerous teachings on the Spirit filled life and practical Christian living. Among her most popular teachings: Treasures in the Darkness-The Gospel of Suffering and My Journey Home.

Joy is also the Executive Director of Her Choice Birmingham Women’s Center (CPC) where she assists women in crisis pregnancy and post-abortion healing.

Joy is a cancer survivor and is learning joy in the midst of suffering.  It has been a difficult journey, but one she would not have missed for anything. With the depth of her faith strengthened, she is more in love with her grooms, Jesus and Jim. Joy is a Christian optimist and lives in the assurance that, the best is yet to come!
