Jim and Joy Pinto
Jim and Joy Pinto were born and raised in New Jersey, met in their teens, dated for six years and after experiencing a profound conversion to Christ, married in 1977. The Pintos are blessed with four children and nine grandchildren. For the Pintos: “marriage and family is the place where God daily manifests Himself and the means by which He desires to transform the world”.
Jim and Joy have been recognized locally and nationally for their ministry to the poor, and for promoting racial reconciliation and the dignity and sacredness of every human life. Together, Jim and Joy are in demand as retreat hosts and speakers at conferences, schools, churches, and share through radio and television programs throughout the country
Jim served as a priest in the Anglican tradition for over twenty years and returned to the Catholic Church as a layman, with Joy, in 2003. The Pintos are faithful members of the Cathedral of St. Paul, Birmingham, Alabama and are supported in their apostolate by their bishop, Robert J. Baker, S.T.D. Jim is a Pastoral Associate with Priests for Life and National Coordinator for the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life Lay Associates. Joy serves as Executive Director of Her Choice Birmingham Women’s Center, a Pregnancy Resource Center in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama.
Through the invitation and good graces of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), Jim and Joy began a worldwide ministry.EWTN, the largest Christian cable and satellite network in the world, airs the Pinto’s Marriage and God’s Plan teachings throughout the day, making them available to over 150 million television households in more than 140 countries and territories. The Pinto’s weekly EWTN Radio show, At Home with Jim and Joy, reaches over 258 million people worldwide.
Jim and Joy consider their marriage and family first priority in authenticating their faith in Jesus and the Catholic Church. They are effective and passionate communicators with a gift for reaching people right where they are and drawing them closer to Christ, His Church and His Mission to evangelize the world!
